Podere Pietreta is a large and old country house of the 18th century, entirely made of stone, which was recently the subject of a careful and passionate restoration, preserving the architectural details and using only original materials. The homestead is situated on a hill, in an exceptionally beautiful location within the natural and artistic Park of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The house, 550 metres above sea level, dominates the hills that slope down to the plain: from here you can admire the magnificent natural setting, from Monte Cetona to the ridges of San Casciano, from the cliff of Radicofani to the slopes of Mount Amiata.
On top of one of the most charming places of Tuscany, you will also find a warm and pleasant climate, which is gifted with its sheltered location and the old oak forest that borders the Podere Pietreta estate.
Walking through the beautiful and scenic road that leads to the Country House, it is easy to see hares, squirrels, deer, porcupines and birds of different species: from hawks to herons, from magpies to nocturnal birds. The flowering bushes of broom and wild roses, strawberry and cypress trees, and the berries are part of the three-hectare park that surrounds the Podere.
Shaded by large oaks, there is a scenic swimming pool with Roman steps (6 × 12 m).
From the benches, which are conveniently located in the large garden, you can admire the magnificent view that characterises Podere Pietreta. The large parking place is in a position that does not disturb the view. The park also includes an olive grove of more than 100 olive trees, an orchard, and organic vegetable gardens; there are no fences but wide open spaces and natural terraces surrounded by borders of lavender, rosemary and flowering plants.
The scenic pool is surrounded by a vast lawn and is elegantly equipped with a wrought-iron pergola, sunbeds and parasols; a typical shower is nestled between the boulders.
